Sensorial Activities

The sensorial area includes materials that discriminate size and dimensions, colors, textures, odors, tastes, geometric forms and more.

For children it is very important to be able to perceive things through their senses. Each of the sensorial materials is directed towards one of the senses.

Thus the perception becomes more intense and focussed.

The aim is to perceive in a more structured and conscious way and to experience a certain order (and, subsequently being able to achieve a mental order). The child learns to classify information and thus becomes a careful observer of his/her environment.
